Level Up Your Peer Group: Expanding Through Intentional Networking

When it comes to leveling up your peer group, one truth stands above the rest: relationships shape the quality of your life. In Module 3 of our Level Up series, I want to share how intentional networking can open doors to deeper connections, meaningful opportunities, and real growth.

Too often, people attend networking events without a plan — they “show up and hope.” But real growth happens when you approach networking with intention. Ask yourself: What’s my purpose here? Who do I want to meet? How can I add value to their lives?

The first step is simple but powerful: give first. Whether it’s offering a testimonial, sharing someone’s work, or introducing them to your community, giving sets the stage for trust and long-term connection. Tony Robbins says, “The quality of your life is the quality of your relationships,” and I couldn’t agree more.

Another strategy I live by is collaboration over selling. Instead of asking, “How can I pitch this person?” shift the question to, “How can we work together?” I often invite people onto my podcast because it’s the perfect way to get to know them, share their voice, and see if our values align. Together, we can achieve so much more than working in silos.

Don’t forget the power of events and public speaking. Every month we host live and virtual events where people step up to deliver a five–minute, three–point talk. It’s not about perfection; it’s about growth. Public speaking is one of the greatest fears people face, but leaning into that discomfort builds courage, confidence, and connection.

Here’s your action step:

  • Write down 10 people you want to meet.

  • Decide exactly how you’re going to reach out — a comment, a testimonial, a podcast invite.

  • Take that first intentional step.

Networking isn’t about collecting business cards; it’s about building aligned, lasting relationships. When you show up with purpose and give first, you’ll discover that the right peers not only elevate your network — they elevate your life.
