Meet Glenda Hicks

Glenda Hicks, owner of 501c Impact! and creator of the innovative board governance and nonprofit management game of the same name, is passionate about empowering nonprofit organizations to build lasting capacity. With over 30 years of professional experience, she is a BoardSource Affiliate-Certified Governance Consultant and a Certified Public Accountant, specializing in transforming nonprofits through strategic planning, financial management, board governance, and leadership development.

In addition to running 501c Impact!, Glenda operates a CPA consulting and training practice, offering comprehensive training, consulting, coaching, and assessments for nonprofit organizations. She is dedicated to guiding her clients in setting strategic direction, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and developing sustainable systems that prioritize accountability, compliance, and transparency.

Glenda’s rich career began with Coopers & Lybrand, LLP, where she provided audit and tax services, followed by leadership roles at the University of Miami as Director of Financial Reporting and Controller. She later served as Interim Executive Director for a nonprofit, successfully leading them through a merger.

Her civic engagement is equally impressive, having served as a Girl Scout troop leader, and on the boards of several organizations, including the Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida and the National Legal Aid and Defender Association. She has also held roles as Board Chair of the Cobb Community Collaborative, Treasurer of the West Cobb Business Association, and Finance Committee member of MUST Ministries. Additionally, Glenda has shared her expertise as an adjunct faculty member at Brenau University and the University of Miami, and is co-author of four books on women's and youth issues.
